Ole Dirks advises and represents clients in patent and utility model matters, as well as in design right, trademark and unfair competition law. He has extensive experience in IP litigation and is regularly instructed in preliminary injunction proceedings.
He works with a broad range of domestic and international clients, with a particular focus on the US and Asia. His work covers disputes in the telecommunications, automotive, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, as well as in mechanical and electrical engineering. He frequently handles parallel nullity and opposition proceedings before the Federal Patent Court, the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Unified Patent Court (UPC). He also advises on FRAND issues in disputes involving standard-essential patents. Ole Dirks regularly contributes to publications and working group submissions of the German national group of AIPPI.

Ole Dirks studied law at the University of Bayreuth with focus on intellectual property law. As a part of his studies he graduated in the University of Bayreuth’s additional training on economic sciences for solicitors (“Wirtschaftsjurist (Univ. Bayreuth)”), acquired a discipline-specific foreign language certificate (French for lawyers) and did an internship at the patent department of Audi AG. After his first state exam he conducted his traineeship with stations at various renowned law firms specialized in intellectual property law. In 2011, he received his license to practice law and joined Wildanger.
